For over 35 years, Phillipa Lepley has been crafting couture wedding dresses that exude luxury and sophistication. Exquisite Italian duchess satin has remained a constant muse throughout, infusing her collections with timeless elegance. 

Phillipa Lepley bride Blaize’s bridal look for her English countryside wedding was an ode to the fabric – an exquisite couture gown that celebrated every inch of the luxurious satin.

Phillipa sources her Italian silk from Lake Como, in love with its heavy-weight yet butter-soft luxury quality. The meticulous craftsmanship of Phillipa’s expert team at the Atelier in Chelsea brings each satin creation to life.

Crafted from a single piece of fabric, the bodice and drape of Blaize’s gown were meticulously moulded and draped by hand, each pin placed with precision.

Blaize’s journey with Phillipa Lepley was one of collaboration and refinement. As a designer herself, with a background in bespoke menswear, Blaize understood the importance of impeccable craftsmanship and luxurious fabrics, and sought a gown that truly was made for her.

Opting for an asymmetric off-the-shoulder collar, Blaize worked closely with Phillipa’s expert team to develop the satin drape – refining the depth and positioning, while ensuring the fabric was soft and organically handled to wrap around her shoulders effortlessly.

The gown itself was a masterpiece of modern elegance. Moulded over a defined corseted waist, the dress followed the lines of the body in a slim straight skirt. A circular overskirt descended into a long train, adding a touch of drama to the chic clean lines of the modern skirt shape. 

Blaize fell in love with the sleek inner skirt so much that Phillipa’s team developed a way for her to detach the overskirt for the evening festivities, seamlessly transitioning from ceremony to celebration without compromising on style – two exquisite looks in one. The overskirt was finished with a narrow, smooth satin belt.

Blaize’s wedding, set amidst the colourful gardens of the English countryside, was a celebration that brought friends and family together from around the world. The couple exchanged vows over a sunny weekend at Heckfield Place, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

From the initial fittings to the final touches, every stage of a Phillipa Lepley couture gown is enveloped in luxury.
