Ice Fleurs
The latest design in Phillipa Lepley’s couture eveningwear collection, ‘Ice Fleurs’ is couture at its most refined – controlled in silhouette, poetic in detail and constructed with true craftsmanship.
The gown balances structure and fluidity with precision. Peau de soie was chosen for its elegant lustre and distinctive, velvety crispness – qualities that give the gown body while allowing it to move with ease. The gentle silver-grey shade, drawn from a personal reference of Phillipa’s first car, a vintage dove grey Morris Minor, lends modernity while remaining understated.

Architectural in design, the silhouette is defined by a dropped-waist, panelled bodice that extends below the natural waist, elongating the line of the torso. Precision seaming creates clean lines, while a signature Phillipa Lepley corset is masterfully integrated to offer structure without rigidity. From the low waistline, a full, gathered skirt falls in soft volume. Designed without a train or petticoat, it maintains a contemporary profile. Concealed side seam pockets are seamlessly integrated, delivering discreet functionality.

Across the bodice, hand-embroidery gives depth and texture. Three-dimensional dahlias, peonies, and roses dance across the fabric, hand-worked in tonal ivory and silver. Each bloom is individually crafted through traditional couture techniques of appliqué, silk-thread embroidery, and fine beading, offering depth and subtle shimmer against the grey silk. Placement is purposeful, following and complementing the female form so that the embellishment enhances rather than competes with the silhouette. The eye is drawn to the craftsmanship, but always returns to the line of the gown.
Hand-worked thread bars, concealed hooks, and a hidden zip allow the bodice to close seamlessly at the centre back of the gown, preserving both the embroidery and the purity of the line.

‘Ice Fleurs’ embodies the essence of couture eveningwear: sculptural yet fluid, decorative yet never excessive. Every design decision, from fabric choice to embroidery placement, is measured, ensuring a gown that allows craftsmanship and form to shine.
A Phillipa Lepley couture evening gown is designed and handcrafted in the London Atelier, resulting in a piece that embodies refined British craftsmanship at the highest level. Each design – whether a dramatic black-tie gown, an elegant cocktail dress, or a bespoke creation for a special occasion – is developed through a highly personal process that ensures the finished garment feels both timeless and individual.
Working directly with Phillipa and her team of artisans, every element is considered with precision: silhouette, proportion, colour, and fabric are chosen to enhance the wearer and translate their vision into couture form. Each gown is made entirely bespoke, constructed from the ground up to the client’s measurements, allowing complete freedom to define and personalise every detail.
