Phillipa Lepley bride Skylar

Skylar was married at the palatial Lancaster House in the St James district of London. She brought her own personal style to her bridal look and worked with Phillipa and The Team of specialist artisans to co-create her vision of perfection.

The design for Skylar’s bespoke Phillipa Lepley couture wedding dress was developed over a series of appointments at The Shop and The Conservatory in Chelsea, London. Balance and proportion were an important consideration, and in her toile appointment The Team worked to ensure there was a strong carefully positioned waistline to create the silhouette that Skylar envisaged, before descending out into a full circular skirt with extra petticoats at the back to hold a long bridal train. A regal open neckline sat just on the edge of her shoulders, leading into delicate cap sleeves.

The fabric she opted for was a white Italian silk; crisp and matte but with a romantic feeling of movement. The defining feature of the dress was the geometric pleating which travelled across the sleeves and descended into a V front and back neckline on the corseted bodice. The technique for this pleating was developed in our London Atelier especially for Skylar to create a look that was striking, elegant and completely unique to her.

Skylar took inspiration from historical architecture in her vision for the bespoke veil. The Embellishment Team worked with her reference images and developed artworks and swatches for her to approve before the design was hand embroidered onto a French silk tulle two tier veil, a beautifully delicate fabric woven on exceptionally wide, vintage looms. A deep cartouche at the back then trickled delicately around the top so not to overpower the look. A scattering of beading was incorporated for an additional touch of sparkle. Skylar also wore a family heirloom tiara, meaning it was important for The Team to design a veil that could be positioned around this stunning piece.

Skylar’s custom Phillipa Lepley couture wedding dress and veil is a wonderful example of the bespoke service offered by Phillipa and her team; and Skylar’s look consisted of multiple exquisite designs which spoke to each other in a way that created a complete and utterly unique bridal look.
