For her quintessential English countryside wedding, Phillipa Lepley bride Isobel chose a couture, corseted silk crepe gown featuring an intricately embroidered, circular high-neck tulle yoke.

At the heart of the design was the yoke: a hand-embroidered design of beaded, threadwork leaves arranged concentrically around the neckline, with a single row playfully breaking away to create an organic, natural flow.

The gown’s clean, timeless silhouette was achieved through the use of Phillipa Lepley’s signature internal corsetry, which gently sculpted the waist beneath luminous, butter-soft silk crepe. A concealed zip added a modern, uninterrupted line down the back.

Isobel paired her couture wedding dress with a hand-embroidered single-tier veil featuring varying scales of delicate threadwork ferns scattered on the silk tulle – a beautiful choice for her wedding in the English countryside at Wilderness Reserve. 

For Isobel, couture was the clear choice. ‘Being petite it was a fine line between finding a dress that felt like a wedding dress, but didn’t overpower me. The dress I chose was everything I could have dreamt of and more! It was tailored so well to my body that it glided with me throughout the whole day – it felt like second skin’.

Every element of the gown was precisely scaled to suit her frame: the depth of the yoke, the spacing of the embroidery, the cut of the skirt, and the weight of the silk crepe and petticoats.
