Phillipa Lepley Bride Lisa

Awash with regal Italian elegance, recent Phillipa Lepley bride Lisa was married in Florence in a couture lace wedding gown.

Each ‘scroll’ of the fine French corded lace was cut out and skilfully re-appliquéd into a delicate symmetrical pattern which follows the line of the body, creating a beautiful, feminine silhouette.

The sleek front of the A-Line dress was softened with an elegant, draped neckline and dainty ¼” scalloped-edge straps. A Iayer of light-weight Italian duchess satin and a signature Phillipa Lepley hidden corset formed the base of the dress, allowing a combination of structure and feeling of movement within the dress.

The low scooped back of the dress provided an exquisite contrast with the apron skirt revealing tiers of expertly engineered, ‘ruffled’, French corded lace through the train. Full of frothy frivolity, the gathered tiers of lace were individually sewn in an organic pattern to create a skirt full of movement and whimsy.

Lisa completed her bridal look with a pristinely simple single-tier fine silk tulle veil; beautifully captured by her talented photographer, David Wheeler, flowing behind her in the Tuscan breeze; refreshing on such a hot summer’s day. For over thirty years Phillipa has sourced our fine silk tulle from France where it is specially woven on exceptionally large vintage looms.

Working with our specialist Phillipa Lepley Team, Lisa chose her dress through an initial video consultation before being welcomed to the The Shop in Chelsea to select her final design. Lisa’s couture wedding gown was then carefully designed and fitted to her over a series of appointments in ‘The Conservatory,’ our new fitting space adjacent to The Shop.
