Vienna Apple & Oak Coat
‘Vienna Apple & Oak Coat’ features statement appliquéd scallops through the neckline, sleeves, front opening and hem – a regal, couture lace bridal coat that showcases the craftsmanship that defines Phillipa Lepley.
The design boasts complete styling versatility, with brides able to switch their look throughout the day. For the ‘Radiance’ collection campaign shoot, Phillipa styled the coat with a corseted, strapless tulle base dress and dotty tulle overlay – the charming peek through of spots underneath the coat added a sense of playfulness to the overall ensemble.
Phillipa Lepley brides may choose to wear the design for their ceremony, buttoned halfway or fully to create a sense of regality. For the evening, it can be removed in favour of a separate sparkly overlay, or belt, or even thrown over the shoulders for effortless style.
Intricate French corded lace of apple leaves & oak leaves is meticulously manipulated and moulded in the London Atelier to form the design. The scallop is then appliquéd along the neckline, sleeve openings, hem, and centre front opening.
Hand-sewn buttons and loops follow the scallop in its organic design – a unique touch that Phillipa adores. Each meticulously placed button becomes a style feature in a stunning visual effect.
‘This exquisite coat is a shining example of the intricate hand skills of my team in the Atelier. We did extensive work appliquéing the scallop down the centre front and I love how we have used the scallop shape as a line to add the button and loop detailing.’ – Phillipa Lepley
Loved by many brides, a lace wedding dress is a timeless and romantic bridal look. The ‘Vienna Apple & Oak’ coat pays homage to the iconic high-neck lace designs Phillipa is known for, in a contemporary, modern way.
