A new silhouette to the Phillipa Lepley couture bridal collection, Jessica Watteau is cleverly cut with elongating ‘princess line’ panels that flatter the body.

Crafted from a luxurious ivory silk crepe, it takes its shape in a strong column skirt that gently rolls over the hip, before subtly flaring at the knee. A corseted bodice ensures an immaculate fit, sculpting the body to the desired silhouette.

The clean, square neckline transitions seamlessly into bold straps that join a deeply scooped back neckline, finishing with crisp, modern bows.

Its pièce de résistance – the distinctive Watteau train – sets the gown apart with contemporary flair. A breathtaking cascade of ‘Peau de Soie’ descends from the high back neckline in perfect pleats, creating a mesmerising silhouette that captivates from every angle.

Peau de Soie (translated from French to “skin of silk”) is a luxuriously soft, closely-woven silk fabric known for its smooth, matte finish. Phillipa chose the fabric for the Watteau as it holds lots of body, making it suited to the train’s volume and structure. The pleated train creates a visual spectacle of triangles, enveloping and framing the wearer in a cape effect –  a true statement piece.

The unique feature of the Watteau train is its styling versatility; it can be either removable or attached, providing brides with the option to tailor their look throughout the day.
