Antibes Acanthus Leaves

Antibes Acanthus Leaves showcases Phillipa’s love of the natural world as well as her perfectionist eye for modern artistry.

Often appearing in architecture and decorative arts, Acanthus leaves are grand and symbolic. They feature from top to bottom of this statement dress – hundreds of the leaves have been hand-embroidered into the tulle to create a richly ornate fabric.

A light-weight duchess satin strapless, corseted dress forms the base of the gown, providing structure and creating an immaculate silhouette with an elongated waist. This sumptuous base also contributes just the right warm ivory colour and sheen to shine through and enhance the elaborate Acanthus leaf embroidered overlay.

The smooth bodice descends into a dramatic yet timeless A-line skirt, supported with layer upon layer of petticoats that move buoyantly as the bride walks. Highly skilled and precise technical construction is required to achieve such a full, skirt and clean silhouette without comprising on an impeccably smooth bodice. The embroidered Acanthus Leaves tulle has been carefully moulded and appliquéd to follow the curves of the wearer.

A high neck bateau neckline and strong, bold shoulders appear to envelope the body, both providing coverage and creating a striking, contemporary bridal look. Delicately shaped motifs form the neckline, skirt hem and the edge of the cap sleeves for a soft, organic finish – exemplifying refined, feminine sophistication.

Antibes Acanthus Leaves has been styled above with a slim satin belt complete with a signature Phillipa Lepley bow to establish a flattering centre point.
