COUTURE WEDDING DRESS: VIENNA CON AMORE

‘Vienna Con Amore’ is an exceptionally elegant yet unusual couture wedding dress.

Its striking, key feature is the beautiful bow which sits across the bodice, forming the entire neckline, with a central ruched knot in the middle.

The charming, oversized bow has been created with the same, luxurious duchess satin as the rest of the dress, seamlessly blending into the finely draped satin beneath it. The satin drapes through the bodice, top to bottom, stopping at the waist. The waist is perfectly drawn in and defined by the elongated Phillipa Lepley corset that is hidden beneath.

The draped front bodice contrasts beautifully with the undulating satin, that then falls to the floor forming the skirt, extending out from the waist behind into a dramatic 80-inch train. Any choice of petticoat combination can be selected by the bride to create a more full or a more straight silhouette.

The butter-soft satin fabric shown here is a warm ivory, however this dress can also be made in a paler shade of white through a bespoke order, should a client prefer.

Phillipa says, “The development of this couture design has quite simply taken me years to execute in this technically detailed way. I have always adored the idea of an over-sized bow being the focal point of a dress bodice, literally becoming the top.

We worked hard to ensure it didn’t overly dominate, but rather that it blended in, which was extremely challenging, but appears to the eye wonderfully effortless. I adore the way it has worked out – it lends the dress such a playful flair, and the look has a sense of slightly off-beat femininity to it.”
