COUTURE WEDDING DRESS: SOPHIE SYMMETRICAL SCROLL

‘Sophie Symmetrical Scroll’ is a new take on a recognised Phillipa Lepley high-neck design, featuring a striking but soft, unique shaped collar.

The design draws the eye perfectly to the bride’s face, which is framed by a subtle sweetheart ‘v’ created with the scalloped edging of the lace.

A structured Italian duchess satin forms the base of this couture wedding dress, with a stunning ‘scroll’ lace overlay placed on top creating an attractive, elegant front and back design. The lace descends from the centre of the neck down to below the waist, elongating the shape of the bride.

The Phillipa Lepley atelier team place the lace through the overlay so that it extends from the neck, symmetrically, out and down around each shoulder, providing just the right amount of cover forming dainty, cap sleeves. Selecting the beautiful ‘scroll’ sections of this French corded lace, to position through the chest and around the collar bones, allows a subtle amount of colour from visible skin beneath.

The bodice is corseted, creating a beautiful v-shaped silhouette from the bust down to the waist, with a full skirt descending out and down into an 85″ long train. The back is finished with dainty buttons, transcending down in a neat line.

Hidden within the lace is a pretty scroll pattern, complete with intricate and detailed leaves, petals, circles and swirls. All the motives playfully come together forming a picture worthy of a thousand words, yet it does not distract from the bride’s face.
