Phillipa Lepley bride Tatiana
Phillipa Lepley bride Tatiana married in the hilltops of Lucignano, Tuscany in a silk crepe princess-line gown with a duchess satin collar. Special bespoke embroidery was developed for the back of Tatiana’s wedding dress by the Atelier’s embellishment team, featuring a monogram of initials in the family crest. Each letter was delicately hand-embroidered with satin stitch and pearl embellishment.

A design of contrasts, Tatiana’s wedding dress was hand-crafted from two luxurious fabrics – the gown was skillfully cut from matte silk crepe, a soft and fluid fabric, whilst its collar was made from lustrous duchess satin, hand-rolled to create a framing, structured shape. The collar’s rich sheen stood in elegant contrast to the matte finish of the silk crepe, creating beautiful visual depth.

Hand-crafted by artisans in the London Atelier, the dress was formed over a Phillipa Lepely corset to create a refined silhouette which was further elongated by clever princess-line seaming along the skirt. At fittings in The Conservatory, Chelsea, particular attention was paid to how the lines of the collar interacted with Tatiana’s décolletage and collarbones. Every aspect of the gown exuded a quiet sophistication.

Adding a personal element to her gown, Tatiana worked closely with Phillipa’s embellishment team to create a bespoke embroidered motif inspired by Tatiana’s husband’s family crest for the back of the collar. The design, used in the wedding invitations, featured the couple’s initials delicately hand-embroidered in ivory threadwork. Pearls were intricately placed to highlight the crest’s cartouche-like details.

This exquisite embroidery was developed through an intimate and collaborative process throughout Tatiana’s couture wedding dress journey. Tatiana approved the scale of the design and worked closely with the Atelier team to ensure it was made to her exact vision. The final result was an elegant tribute to her family’s heritage, placed to catch the eye as she turned.

Hidden within the dress was a thoughtful nod to tradition: a blue corset ribbon served as Tatiana’s “something blue.”

Phillipa Lepley’s bespoke service allows each bride to create a gown imbued with meaning, whether through intricate embroidery, hidden details, or carefully chosen silhouettes. Understated yet extraordinary, Tatiana’s wedding dress held significant personal meaning in her heritage and future – a beautiful design, perfectly suited to the romantic Italian setting.
