Phillipa Lepley bride Georgina was married on New Years’ Eve wearing a bespoke high-neck embellished wedding gown with long-sleeves.

Georgina’s dress included the signature internal corset that Phillipa and her team have been refining for over 35 years. Ivory silk crepe was moulded over the corset to form the base of the dress with a scoop front and back neckline, and a flattering princess-line skirt, kept light and fluid for ease of movement.

A high-neck, long-sleeve tulle overlay was created to sit over the silk crepe which was hand-embroidered with a bespoke design. Swirling leaves flowed organically around the body – across the neckline in a yoke design and onto the skirt, composed of ivory threadwork, glass crystals, sparkly beads and ivory pearls. Georgina’s sleeves were beautifully finished to ¾ length with buttons and a delicate embroidered cuff edge.

‘I wanted a dress that was simultaneously simple and striking. I knew from the start that I wanted a dress with high neck and long sleeves, and since it was New Years Eve it felt right to have a bit of sparkle too. The team at Phillipa Lepley helped create this vision. The delicate embroidery with crystal and pearl beading was perfect for the occasion.’

The beauty of a Phillipa Lepley Couture gown is that each detail can be refined to the bride’s exacting vision including adding specific flowers, leaves or sentimental touches to an embroidery design. In the months building up to her wedding, Georgina worked with the Head of Embellishment at Phillipa Lepley to design and develop her bespoke embroidery, and was presented with various swatches at each stage of the process. Once the design was approved by Georgina, she was gifted the final artwork in the form of a Phillipa Lepley paper doll – a keepsake of her couture wedding dress to treasure long after the wedding day.

Georgina and her husband married in a candlelit church service, followed by a drinks reception, dinner and dancing at the bride’s family home in Wiltshire. Guests celebrated the night into the early hours of 2024, marking the New Year with the newlywed couple.
