Phillipa Lepley bride Amelia married in a quintessential English country wedding wearing a couture, French lace wedding dress.

Truly showcasing the honed couture skills that go into making a renowned Phillipa Lepley design, Amelia’s lace wedding dress exuded timeless elegance, befitting of her beautiful day.

At its core, the dress featured a strapless, corseted bodice crafted from sumptuous Italian duchess satin, which provided a smooth, clean base to the design. The Atelier team worked with Amelia to create a bespoke strapless neckline, with flattering lines meticulously drawn on the body during fittings in The Conservatory. The dress’s corseted bodice created a feminine silhouette, gently shaping Amelia’s form at the waist, before falling away into a full skirt and train of luxurious satin.

Over this, a breathtaking ‘Scroll’ lace overlay was draped, adding depth and texture. The intricately detailed French corded lace extended beyond the bodice, forming a high neckline that drew the eye up to Amelia’s face, gracefully framed by scalloped edging. The lace overlay was perfectly positioned, allowing just the right amount of skin to subtly peek through beneath the lace, a modern yet demure touch.

The back of the dress was finished with a line of dainty hand-crafted buttons, descending in a perfect row, a testament to the meticulous attention to detail that characterises Phillipa’s couture creations.

Amelia paired her gown with a couture ‘Wild Rose’ lace border silk tulle veil which echoed the lace motifs of the dress without overshadowing it. The veil featured delicate floral hand-embroidered lace along its border, finished with beautiful scalloped detailing.

The day itself was a perfect reflection of the timeless elegance embodied by Amelia’s dress – a romantic ceremony at St. Mary’s Church in Haughley, before a reception at her family’s home. Guests enjoyed a drinks reception accompanied by a jazz quartet and later dined in a beautifully decorated marquee, before dancing the night away to a 12-piece showband. Throughout it all, Amelia’s gown remained the epitome of refinement—lightweight, comfortable, and exquisitely crafted.
