Phillipa Lepley Bride Nina
A romantic ‘Jasmine Ivy’ lace gown with a clean square neckline and cap sleeves for a wedding in Rhodes, Greece.
A statement in subtlety – Phillipa Lepley bride Pollyanna wore a corseted, princess-line silk crepe gown with a clean duchess satin collar for her September wedding.
For her couture wedding dress, Pollyanna worked closely with Phillipa’s team to design a bespoke satin off-the-shoulder collar. Crafted from heavy-weight Italian duchess satin, the fabric was expertly rolled to form a wide collar, in a seamless design that appears untouched by hands. Over a series of fittings at The Phillipa Lepley Conservatory, the dress and collar were bespokely tailored to Pollyanna, adjusting and refining the position on her frame.
Cut in a luxurious matte crepe, the dress featured flattering princess-line detailing with wide centre front and centre back panels that elongate the body. The butter-soft sheen of the satin collar with the matte of the silk crepe bodice and skirt created a beautiful contrast of fabric and added interest to the design.
The collar demurely wrapped around Pollyanna’s shoulders, finishing in a statement, angular back neckline. Hand-sewn buttons and loops lined the centre back of the dress, leading to a long bridal train. For the evening, the Atelier team installed a bustle into the skirt to loop up the train when dancing.
Pollyanna paired her minimalist wedding dress with a delicate hand-embroidered two-tier silk tulle ‘Lily of the Valley’ veil. Inspired by flora and fauna, Phillipa often incorporates the beauty of the natural world into her fine hand-embroidery. A Phillipa Lepley classic – Lily of the Valley – petals were scattered organically across luxury French silk tulle and hand-embroidered on to create Pollyanna’s veil.
Pollyanna’s wedding dress required the most delicate and skilled hands to craft, manipulating the luxurious satin and crepe into a design that looks untouched. Paired with a hand-embroidered artwork of Lily of the Valley, her bridal look truly celebrates the artisan craftsmanship of the Phillipa Lepley Atelier.
