Virtuoso

Virtuoso exemplifies Phillipa’s flair for balancing the romantic and timeless with the contemporary and architectural.

A corseted Italian duchess satin dress forms a sumptuous base for a beautiful and intricate French corded floral lace. The underlying satin shines through the delicate open flowers and echoes the satin cording that defines the shapes of the lace. Very fine needle and thread work is carried out by Phillipa’s specialist artisans in our London Atelier to appliqué the lace for an exceptionally detailed and seamless finish, with flowers kept whole and the shapes soft and feminine.

Virtuoso is framed by a crisp, architectural square neckline, and neat, straight straps which are considerately placed just on the shoulder to flatter the collar bone before descending into an elegant open back.

A showstopping silk peau de soie overskirt is complete with deep pleats at the waist, providing Virtuoso with a grand sense of structure and an incredible volume. Peau de soie, which translates from French to “skin of silk”has a crisp, lustrous satin finish, lending itself impeccably to a voluminous skirt. The clean styling of the straps and flat bow belt give Virtuoso a flawless and complete couture identity. The overskirt is detachable, maximising styling options for brides.
