Our Brides
Lady Laline’s Wedding At Peterborough Cathedral
Phillipa Lepley had honour and pleasure of creating two exquisite bespoke dresses for Lady Laline to wear on her wedding day – a full skirted, timeless and demure wedding dress for the day, and a light, fun evening wedding dress for the reception and party with her guests.
For her wedding ceremony at Peterborough Catherdral, Laline chose a couture wedding dress covered in our regal, Acanthus Leaves embroidery. It was corseted, with a full A-line skirt and cathedral length train.
Decadently embroidered with leaf motifs onto tulle, the fabric was moulded to Laline’s body in her fittings, and appliquéd to give a seamless finish throughout. The direction of embroidery stitches used within the leaves gave a tonal depth to the finish of the fabric.
This feeling of movement was carried through to Laline’s cathedral length silk tulle veil, which had a scattering of delicate leaves carefully positioned around the edges. The veil was further personalised with three bespoke hand embroidered mistletoe sprigs, the shape for this personal, family momento developed with Laline’s input and guidance, and completed in our London atelier.
For the evening, Laline changed into her second dress – a dress hand embellished with peacock feathers, carefully designed to flow down the body and made in much softer, lighter, more fluid fabrics – perfect for dancing the night away!
Phillipa Lepley is recognised globally as a leading British wedding dress and eveningwear designer, renowned for bespoke couture dresses of the utmost luxury. Her wedding dress shop in London, Chelsea, has over 50 dresses, all of which have been made in England from start to finish at her atelier.
