Phillipa Lepley is recognised globally as a leading British wedding dress and eveningwear designer, renowned for bespoke couture dresses of uncompromising quality, showcasing the most luxurious fabrics, exquisite intricate embroidery and unique defining corsetry.
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Pattern Cutting Intern to join our London based atelier and shadow our Pattern Department.
This work placement would operate on a part-time basis with flexible hours. Up to 6 months duration.
Role Overview
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain supervised hands-on experience within a luxury bridal couture environment. Working closely alongside the Head of Client Patterns and Atelier Team the successful candidate will shadow the pattern development process while observing couture techniques, garment construction and Atelier workflow within a guided learning environment.
The placement is designed to provide educational knowledge to couture pattern cutting and luxury garment craftsmanship, allowing the candidate to develop their understanding of precision cutting, silhouette development and high-end atelier processes under supervision.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a current fashion or pattern cutting student with a strong interest in couture craftsmanship, luxury bridalwear and garment construction, who is eager to learn within a busy fast paced atelier environment.

- An eye for detail and precision
- Passionate about couture craftsmanship
- Strong understanding of garment construction and silhouette
- Basic pattern cutting knowledge with a strong desire to learn
- Genuine passion for luxury bridal and couture craftsmanship

Travel Reimbursement/Expenses
This is an unpaid student work placement intended for educational and skills development purposes. Reasonable travel expenses within London Zones 1 to 6 will be reimbursed subject to submission of valid receipts and approval by Phillipa Lepley Ltd.
- 2 Day Placement Schedule: Expenses will be reimbursed up to the value of £120 per month.
- 3 Day Placement Schedule: Expenses will be reimbursed up to the value of £170 per month.
