About Us
Phillipa Lepley is recognised globally as a leading British wedding dress and eveningwear designer, renowned for bespoke couture dresses of uncompromising quality, showcasing the most luxurious fabrics, exquisite intricate embroidery, and unique defining corsetry.
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Embellishment Intern to join our London based atelier and shadow our Embellishment Department.
This work placement would operate on a part-time basis with flexible hours. Up to 6 months duration.
Role Overview
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain supervised hands-on experience within a luxury bridal couture environment. The successful candidate will observe and shadow members of the Embellishment and Atelier team and receive supervised instruction in couture embroidery and embellishment techniques. Any practical activities undertaken will be for training and skills development purposes and will be closely supervised.
The placement is designed to provide educational knowledge on the couture techniques used. You will be handling the highest quality materials, learning new techniques, and developing your embroidery skills under supervision.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a current fashion, textiles, or embroidery student with a strong interest in couture craftsmanship, luxury bridalwear and embroidery who is eager to learn within a busy fast paced atelier environment.
Ideal Requirements
- Currently studying Fashion, Textiles, Costume or Embroidery at Degree level.
- Keen eye for detail and precision.
- Passionate about couture craftmanship and hand-finishing.
- Comfortable using domestic sewing machine.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator preferred.
- Genuine passion for luxury bridal and couture craftsmanship
- Eager to learn and observe.

Travel Reimbursement/Expenses
This is an unpaid student work placement intended for educational and skills development purposes. Reasonable travel expenses within London Zones 1 to 6 will be reimbursed subject to submission of valid receipts and approval by Phillipa Lepley Ltd.
