Amidst the azure waters and sun-kissed cliffs of Hydra, Greece, Phillipa Lepley bride Maria married her husband in an unforgettable three-day celebration.

Maria wore a stunning, bespoke Phillipa Lepley lace gown paired with a hand-embroidered veil for the day of the wedding – a timeless bridal look against the backdrop of the Cathedral Church of Hydra.

Beginning her couture wedding dress journey, Maria met with Phillipa for an initial design consultation in The Shop, Chelsea. She chose an iconic silhouette from the Phillipa Lepley collection, distinguished by the renowned internal corset, and a ‘Symmetrical Scroll’ lace overlay.

A beautiful blend of Italian duchess satin and bespoke lace placement, Maria’s couture wedding dress underwent subtle refinement during fittings at the Phillipa Lepley Conservatory to accentuate her petite frame with understated elegance.

Every detail of Maria’s gown was thoughtfully curated to harmonise with her vision and setting. The bespoke lace placement, inspired by a couture bridal top in the collection, was developed to gracefully frame Maria’s face with a lighter, more complimentary touch. She also opted for fewer petticoats in the skirt and a shortened bridal train so the design could work within the warm climate.

Maria’s couture veil – a true celebration of threadwork – was entirely hand-embroidered with ferns and leaves, winding organically across the silk tulle. A perfect finishing touch, reminiscent of her natural setting.
