Phillipa Lepley bride Sophia
Phillipa Lepley Bride Sophia was married at St James’ Chapel, before celebrating the reception at Claridges in London’s Mayfair.
For her chic city wedding, Sophia opted for a bespoke, minimalist silk crepe couture gown paired with an intricate scroll lace silk tulle veil; a stunning contrast.
Sophia attended a series of fittings at The Phillipa Lepley Conservatory in Chelsea, London, where her gown was mocked up and precisely fitted to her in a calico toiles before her Silk Fittings took place.
Sophia fell in love with Phillipa Lepley’s silk crepe for its luxurious simplicity. A signature internal corset, and elongating princess seaming of the crepe, created a beautiful silhouette. The slim fitting skirt descended into a long, bridal train, which could later be bustled up for an evening of dancing.
A striking feature that framed Sophie beautifully was the clean, crisp square front and back neckline. Long silk crepe sleeves starting just on the shoulder were delicately finished with silk covered buttons and loops at the wrists, complementing the line of buttons at centre back of the dress.
To complete her bridal look, Sophia chose a French silk tulle couture veil featuring a fine, French corded ‘Scroll’ lace. Each individual motif was skilfully positioned and appliquéd together by Phillipa’s artisan team at The Atelier in Chelsea. The considered placement of the lace appeared to grow organically up the silk tulle, creating a mesmerising life-like effect.
For over 35 years, Phillipa has sourced the finest silk tulle from France where it is delicately woven on exceptionally wide, vintage looms to create incredibly special luxury veils that perfectly frame the bride; bespoke creations that can be treasured for generations to come.
