Couture Wedding Dress: Vienna Swiss Meadow

Playing with the introduction of subtle shades of peach, pink and soft bronzed tones, the exclusive Swiss embroidered tulle of this dress is a special and unique choice for the bride looking to create a youthful, modern and fresh look for her wedding day.

Twisting petal shapes growing with stems and vines weave over the dress, embroidered into the fine tulle. Bronze and silver tones pick up the light and create a depth to this sheer embroidery.

As with every Phillipa Lepley wedding dress, the base silhouette for Vienna Swiss Meadow has been considerately designed, combining the perfect balance of proportions to flatter the female form. The strapless bodice is constructed with the iconic Phillipa Lepley signature corsetry to cinch the waist and define the shape before the sumptuous Italian duchess satin skirt flares out to create a romantic A Line shape with a long train.

Crowned here with a radiant Rachel Trevor-Morgan ivory and blush silk flower headdress, this dress has been designed with two interchangeable tops that can be worn over the corseted bodice to create two very different looks.

The first is a frivolous look full of movement and drama. A deep frill of embroidery has been positioned in an off-the-shoulder neckline and the gathers of fabric give a volume that creates a feminine framing around shoulders and décolletage. Fitted to the bodice beneath to create a streamlined shape that flows into the A Line skirt, the top is finished with a perfect line of buttons at the back.

The second top features a contemporary round neckline and cap sleeves. A precise and minutely delicate hand rolled edge on the sheer tulle edges leaves an almost invisible finish over the décolletage and shoulders, and the embroidery diffuses up over the bodice.

For our Collection shoot at the Savile Club, Mayfair, this top has been styled with a ‘box fit’ over the waist offering a juxtaposition to the corseted waist shaping beneath. With a small button fixture at the back neck, the top hangs open, revealing the open, low back of the wedding dress beneath.

Both tops have been designed in the dreamy ‘Swiss Meadow’ embroidery and skilfully finished with the most delicate stitchery in the fine tulle. These tops offer a glimpse of what is possible when a bride is creating their own Phillipa Lepley wedding dress.
