Covid-19 Faqs

1. MY WEDDING IS VERY SOON. CAN I BUY A SAMPLE DRESS AND/OR VEIL?

 

At Phillipa Lepley we offer both a couture and sample service, so you can buy both sample dresses and veils. Our sample dresses are predominantly size UK 10-12 and they can be altered to fit in a short amount of time if required.

 

For all our brides, for both couture and sample routes, we begin with a consultation online with your personal stylist, during which we learn about you and your wedding. You will then be guided through the collection, presented with images and videos. After some ideas have been formed you will be invited instore to try on a selection of dresses and to refine your bridal look further.

 

 

2.  HOW SOON IN ADVANCE OF THE WEDDING DO YOU ADVISE I ORDER A COUTURE DRESS?

 

The couture service involves a number of meticulous fittings where by your dress is created organically over time. The beauty of a couture dress is that the design can be totally bespoke to you should you choose, so ultimately the more time we have the better.

We advise starting your process with an online consultation, so we can form an understanding of your ideas, followed by an instore appointment to refine those ideas.

We understand many brides will not have dates or venues set for 2021/2022/2023 weddings yet with so many factors remaining unknown. Despite this, we do advise having your bridal consultation with us early on in the planning process to allow plenty of time to enjoy the creation of your dress in the build-up to your wedding.

 

 

3. HOW WILL MY DRESS CREATION PROCESS BE MANAGED IN THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES WITH RESTRICTIONS CHANGING?

 

As all our dresses our made locally in our London Atelier, if there are further restrictions, we maintain flexibility and your personal fittings schedule can be managed to accommodate Government guidelines. Our team is extremely well versed in adapting to suit timeframes and situations, as necessary, to ensure that we continue to plan for each of our clients and their own requirements.

 

 

4. WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE ORDERED A DRESS BUT MY WEDDING IS POSTPONED?

 

Our Client Manager will work with you to adapt your fittings schedule as required, ensuring all is managed in the appropriate manner to maintain the best and smoothest route for you and your dress.

 

 

5. WHAT ARE YOUR SAFETY GUIDELINES AT THE MOMENT?

6. HOW DO I ORDER A COUTURE PHILLIPA LEPLEY DRESS IF I LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE UK WITH THE EVOLVING TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS? 

 

Please email info@phillipalepley.com to book in an initial virtual meeting with your personal consultant who will talk through the designs and advise in detail on what designs will work best for you.

Over our 30 years, we have built a strong international client community and are very well versed with creating dresses for clients who come to us only a few times before their wedding for fittings.

We can complete some stages of our process virtually without the need to travel to the UK. Your individual situation will be discussed in detail with our Client Manager who will ensure the smoothest route for you and your dress no matter where in the world you are based.

 

 

7. HOW DO I PURCHASE A DRESS THAT I HAVE SEEN ONLINE BUT HAVE NOT TRIED ON?

8. I AM HAVING A SMALLER CEREMONY THIS YEAR WITH A LARGER PARTY TO FOLLOW NEXT YEAR. CAN I TRANSITION MY DRESS TO WEAR IT TO BOTH OCCASIONS? 

 

Many designs can ‘peel’ off to transform into a very different bespoke look. There are a wonderful number of options to consider in terms of changeable looks to suit different celebrations. For example, this may involve creating an overlay to be worn over a base dress creating a completely new look to be worn on a separate occasion, or perhaps returning after one event to have your dress altered into a variant more suitable to the second event. We can individually design a bespoke look to suit each occasion.
